Been sculpting zzzombies...

Well, a current project of mine has dropped into a state of... well... lets just say I needed a little break from it. So, I rummaged around my box of unfinished minis and dug up (yup) a couple of zombies I'd started way back when. I've spent the last few days finishing them off. They're both around the 32mm mark and are sculpted using ProCreate. Yes, those are metal hands of the big guy, they were culled from previous zombies...

  4. Steve do you ever draw inspiration to create Zombies or props/characters from films. I only say this because the guy on the right really reminds me of the fat guy from Shaun of the Dead and I was wondering if it was a wry-nod to the film?

I mean if I could sculpt like you i'd use all my own ideas and such but I'd HAVE to slide a tiny part of my favorite cult symbols here or there, have you ever done that?

  5. Well, I'm often inspired by movies and so on to an extent. In this case the zombie is a pretty generic 'fat zombie' and I was immediately inspired by the one at the start of Zombi 2 (aka Zombie Flesh Eaters. The one with zombie versus shark) though he doesn't really look much like him.

But there are probably a number of nods to cult stuff in my figures, some quite blatant and others quite subtle.

  6. Great stuff Steve but please stay clear of the one in the original Dawn of the Dead! (the one with the very long head that get's a trim from the helicoptor blades)

The scale police wont be happy with his noggin!
